Techniclear [Solvent Based]

Techniclear [Solvent Based]

  • $38.00

Techniclear Solvent Based is a high quality hard industrial clear coat that can be used on a multitude of hard surfaces including plastics, wood, and paints (solvent & water-based) that have fully dried.

Techniclear can also be used as a base for color additives. It can be tinted, have color concentrates added to it, or can be added into premixed colors of SEM Color Coat or Special T Colors.

Make sure your Techniclear is adjusted and matching the desired sheen. Techniclear Matte(dull) can be dulled/matted down further if necessary by adding a small amount of diluted SEM Flattener. Apply sparingly, 1% - 3% max. To achieve a satin finish, mix Techniclear Gloss with Techniclear Matte(dull). Spray your fully cleaned, prepped, repaired and colored surface with a gravity feed HVLP gun. Settings will vary from gun to gun, but most common setting would be 20-30 psi.

5-10% Blush Retarder is recommended for a nice, smooth coating. A light, even coat is recommended as a base coat. Allow to dry to touch and follow with a full wet coat.

Unline many other coatings, Techniclear solvent has no recoat window. It can be reapplied at any time without causing crinkling or a reaction.

NOTE:  MATTE is the artist formerly known as DULL.  We changed it to matte to avoid confusion, and probably to cause some as well.
